1900-1918 there were post card shops on every corner in the big cities of the USA, UK, Germany and France. Many studio made real photo postcards with pretty ladies were for sale for a penny each, what a bargain. What do you think she was dreaming of? Traveling to a far away land? Chocolates? Or her prince or king?

Before Playboy men carried around a photo, many times a real photo post card of a pretty lady from 1900-1930.
These real photo post cards are hand tinted or hand colored.
Victorian dresses had so much details and no buttons. Hand tinting gave a charming fantasy to the photo.
Flowers are almost always present. Young ladies with floral perfumes float in the air.
Most of the posed ladies were done in a studio. Surely a paid job for the models in the early 1900’s.
